INTRODUCTION

The Religious Education Office

Welcome to this small area of cyber space.  It’s our Office; it is not a building or a room, although we have a location within the Gillis centre, where we are based and co-operate.

The Religious Education Office focuses on the Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools as its part in the role and mission of the diocese.

It is part of the pastoral care and outreach of the whole Church, whose overall function is to progress both personal faith development and the influence of Christian morality and ideals world-wide.  The faith of each member of the church is a pilgrimage towards God: the Father Who calls and attracts, Whose Spirit of merciful love enables and energises through Jesus the Son, Whose human life continues to transform the world by His risen presence in and through the Church, his people.

Faith should be the dynamic basis influencing the whole of a Catholic’s life, and so growth in faith is an essential accompaniment of the on-going process of the journey of life: a process of growth for us all, in knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes, whether we are religious or not and whether it is formal or informal education.  Together with you, both humble and proud, we are part of this huge enterprise, responsible for ourselves and in our own way for others, before God, our Father, for the coming of whose kingdom we pray and work together.

You will see from the menu on the left the subdivisions of our activity that lead to further and more detailed information about the focus on Catholic Primary and Secondary schools – the service offered by the Religious Education Office.
